USA: A 90-year-old athlete has made history by holding the dead hang position for nearly three minutes, setting a new Guinness World Record.
According to media reports, Ann Krayl Aeslston achieved the feat at 90 years and 231 days old, maintaining a dead hang for 2 minutes and 52 seconds. She broke the previous record held by Annie Judes, who set it at the age of 81 in 2024.
Krayl, who has played and coached 10 different sports throughout her life, began training in February specifically for this record attempt. She told Guinness World Records, “Going for a record and celebrating it in this way was completely new for me. I spent my life making my four children and ten grandchildren happy through their athletic competitions and achievements.”
She added, “I never thought in my 90 years that I would be lucky enough to receive focused training, support, and actually earn a Guinness World Record title.”
This achievement highlights that age is no barrier to setting extraordinary physical records and inspires athletes worldwide to challenge their limits, regardless of age.
