According to national news, a high-level meeting on police affairs was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary and senior police officers. Several key decisions were made to further strengthen the province’s police force.
Major Budget Allocations for KPK Police
The Chief Minister approved the immediate release of Rs. 5.5 billion to meet police requirements. Out of this amount, Rs. 3 billion has been allocated for bulletproofing police vehicles and purchasing modern equipment.
The meeting also decided to establish Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams equipped with modern technology at the district level. Additionally, Rs. 1.3 billion will be provided to secure police stations and checkpoints.
Furthermore, Rs. 500 million has been allocated for the completion of remaining police station and checkpoint construction projects under the Annual Development Program.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also announced the provision of advanced equipment for the police force, allocating Rs. 720 million for night vision goggles, snipers, and other essential tools.
During the briefing, it was decided in principle that the salaries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officers would be aligned with those of Balochistan police officers, while the salaries of police personnel would be made equivalent to those of Punjab police personnel.
Officials informed the meeting that police officers in Balochistan receive the highest salaries among provinces, while Punjab has the highest salaries for police personnel.
