Mercedes Unveils New Formula 1 Car Design for 2026 Season

Mercedes has revealed its new Formula 1 car, the W17, for the 2026 season. The launch has created excitement among F1 fans as the sport prepares for major technical changes.

The W17 is designed under Formula 1’s new 2026 regulations. These rules introduce active aerodynamics and a hybrid system that uses almost equal combustion and electric power.

The car keeps Mercedes’ traditional black and silver colors. Turquoise accents remain as a tribute to long-time partner Petronas, giving the car a familiar yet modern look.

A noticeable change is the addition of Microsoft branding. The logo now appears on the airbox and front wing, highlighting a new and important partnership.

Team principal Toto Wolff said Formula 1 is entering a new era in 2026. He added that innovation, sustainability, and teamwork are central to Mercedes’ future plans.

George Russell will continue as the team’s lead driver. He will be joined by young talent Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is seen as a rising star in the sport.

Last season, Mercedes finished second in the constructors’ championship. The team stayed ahead of Red Bull but could not challenge a dominant McLaren.

The W17 will make its first on-track appearance during pre-season testing in Barcelona from January 26 to 30. Mercedes will officially launch its season on February 2.
