Pakistan has launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq after what officials described as unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban along multiple sectors of the Pakistan Afghanistan border.
Security sources said the operation includes coordinated airstrikes, artillery fire and ground offensives targeting Taliban military infrastructure.
According to official figures, 133 Taliban fighters have been killed and more than 200 injured since the start of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.
Security forces have destroyed 27 Taliban posts and taken control of nine others.
Officials confirmed that more than 80 tanks, armored vehicles and artillery systems were also destroyed during the strikes.
Pakistan Air Force jets carried out precision airstrikes on key locations in Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar and Paktia.
Two corps headquarters and three brigade headquarters were destroyed during the operation, security officials said.
In Kandahar, airstrikes also hit a major ammunition depot and a logistics base believed to support cross border attacks.
In Paktia, Pakistani forces captured five Afghan posts located opposite South Waziristan.
Troops raised the Pakistani flag at the captured positions after securing the area.
Security officials said the Afghan Taliban had initiated firing at several border points including Torkham and Tirah sectors.
Pakistan responded with immediate and coordinated military action.
At the Torkham border, multiple Taliban check posts were targeted with precision strikes.
Sources said Taliban fighters abandoned several forward positions and retreated after heavy losses.
Attempts to attack Pakistani posts using quadcopters were also reported.
All hostile drones were shot down by security forces.
In Bajaur, troops intercepted militants attempting to cross into Pakistani territory.
One captured individual identified himself as Abdullah, according to officials.
Heavy exchange of fire was also reported in Mohmand, Chitral, Kurram and South Waziristan sectors.
Several Taliban hideouts and bases were destroyed in these operations.
Prime Minister spokesperson Mosharraf Zaidi stated that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq was authorized after repeated aggression from across the border.
He said the military response specifically targeted Taliban command centers and operational infrastructure.
The Ministry of Interior strongly condemned what it described as deliberate targeting of civilian areas by Taliban forces.
The ministry said Pakistan delivered a strong and decisive response to the aggression.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar rejected what he called false propaganda circulating on social media.
He said verified updates are being shared through official channels and urged the public not to believe fabricated reports.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan’s armed forces are delivering a decisive response and will continue to defend the country’s sovereignty.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan had tried to resolve tensions through dialogue in the past.
However, he added that any attack on Pakistan’s territorial integrity would now be answered firmly.
Security officials said border areas remain under strict surveillance.
Troops continue aerial patrols in sensitive regions to prevent further escalation.
Analysts believe the recent clashes signal rising tensions along the western border.
They say continued cross border attacks and militant activity have increased security concerns.
Authorities reaffirmed that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq aims to protect Pakistan’s borders and ensure the safety of its citizens.
Officials stressed that Pakistan seeks peace with its neighbors. However, they said any aggression will be met with a robust and proportionate response. Security forces remain on high alert as operations continue across multiple sectors.
