Health experts have warned that standing while working, rather than sitting, does not necessarily protect against diseases like stroke and heart disease. Previously, it was commonly believed that sitting while working was dangerous and increased the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other illnesses. However, British experts have now highlighted the dangers of working while standing.
According to a research report published in international media, British experts analyzed data from 88,000 individuals to investigate whether working while standing prevents stroke and heart disease. The study focused on individuals over 60, with half of the participants being women. During and before the study, the physical health of these thousands of volunteers was closely monitored, considering their time spent sitting and standing while working. Seven years later, their health was reassessed.
