Islamabad: The federal government has moved closer to launching a new solar policy aimed at strengthening the Local Solar Industry and reducing Pakistan’s dependence on imported energy equipment.
Officials have begun final work on the policy as part of a broader strategy to support domestic manufacturing, expand renewable energy adoption, and improve energy security nationwide.
Speaking during a television program, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan said the government wants to transform the Local Solar Industry from a simple assembly-based sector into a full manufacturing ecosystem.
