Apple Warns iPhone Duo Walk-In Stock Will Be Limited on Friday

Apple has said it will have only “limited” numbers of its folding iPhone Duo available for walk-in customers at the iPhone Duo launch on Friday, after initial online orders sold out in minutes and pushed delivery times for some buyers to January.

The iPhone Duo launch is Apple’s first step into folding phones, a niche where Samsung Electronics and Huawei Technologies have sold premium devices for years. Apple announced the device in September, and analysts expect it to quickly dominate the segment despite arriving late.

The Duo is a more complex product than standard candy-bar iPhones. Its tight-fitting hinge is the kind of precision part analysts believe Apple will need time to learn to manufacture in high volumes, which explains the constrained supply.

“On Friday morning, our teams look forward to welcoming customers at Apple Stores to experience iPhone Duo and the incredible iPhone line-up for themselves,” Apple said in a statement.

iPhone Duo launch: where walk-ins can buy

Apple Stores will have limited iPhone Duo units available for walk-in customers, and the company says it is working to get the product into buyers’ hands as quickly as possible. Availability of walk-in units will vary by country.

Online order pickup and limited walk-in purchases will be available in the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico and much of the UK and Europe. Other regions will only have units for customers who already bought online, including mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the UAE, Dawn reported.

On the China-governed island of Macau, the iPhone Duo will be available for walk-in customers only, with limited inventory.

What limited stock means for buyers in this region

Pakistan does not appear on Apple’s walk-in list, and neither does any South Asian market except India, which is restricted to online-order pickups. That follows the usual pattern: new iPhones typically reach Pakistan through official and grey-market channels weeks after the first wave, often at a premium driven by exactly this kind of supply squeeze.

The broader context is a folding-phone market that is finally getting crowded at the top. Samsung has spent years refining its foldables, and its latest Galaxy M08 and F08 launches show how aggressively the mid-range is moving too. Apple’s entry validates the category, but the hinge manufacturing challenge means the Duo will remain a scarce product through the holiday quarter.

The launch also lands in a week of heavy tech news for the region, from the Poco X8s launch in Vietnam to OpenAI’s expansion of ChatGPT ads into Pakistan. For now, the message from Cupertino is simple: if you want a Duo on Friday, order online and do not count on walking in.
