Gold price jumps Rs21,000 again, per tola nears Rs600,000

Gold and silver prices continued their sharp upward movement on Thursday, recording a major increase for the second straight day in both global and domestic markets. The surge has pushed gold prices close to the Rs600,000-per-Tola mark.
In the international bullion market, gold prices jumped by $212 per ounce, reaching a new historic high of $5,504. Analysts link the rise to global economic uncertainty and increased demand for safe-haven assets.
The strong global trend had an immediate impact on Pakistan’s local market. The price of gold per tola increased by Rs21,200, taking it to a record high of Rs572,862.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs18,175 to reach Rs491,136, marking the highest level ever recorded in the country.
Silver prices also followed the upward trend, setting fresh records. The per tola price of silver increased by Rs264 to Rs12,175, while the price of 10 grams climbed by Rs227 to Rs10,438.
