According to Fox News, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were ready to travel to Pakistan. They had planned meetings in Islamabad to discuss a possible ceasefire. However, Trump stopped the trip before departure.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump confirmed the Pakistan visit cancellation. He explained that long-distance travel without clear outcomes wastes time. Moreover, he stressed that the United States must focus on more urgent priorities.
During a media interaction, Trump used a firm tone. He stated that US officials will not make 18-hour trips just for talks. Instead, he wants negotiations that lead to real and measurable results. Therefore, he decided to halt the visit.
Meanwhile, Trump criticized Iran’s leadership. He claimed that confusion exists within the government in Tehran. In addition, he said different leaders send mixed signals.
