Scientists from Japan have created an advanced AI blood test that can provide insight into a person’s actual biological age. It has been deemed significantly more effective and accurate than traditional DNA tests to date.

This advanced AI blood test requires only five drops of blood and was developed by experts from Osaka University, as reported by News18. Biological age may differ from a person’s chronological age because it is based on the health of internal organs, such as the heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs.
For example, an individual who is 50 years old but possesses healthy organs can be biologically younger. In contrast, weaker organs can make them biologically older.
Experts say that DNA tests have, until now, been used to evaluate the health of human cells. However, this new AI system screens for 22 steroids present in the blood, including cortisol.
Cortisol is a hormone that reflects the body’s stress levels. Studies have shown that a doubling of cortisol levels can increase biological age by 1.5 times.
This test can alert doctors even before a person’s organs begin to fail, allowing for early intervention and treatment.
The benefit of this is that individuals can improve their health and reduce the effects of ageing by making proper diet, lifestyle, and medication adjustments.
In the near future, this breakthrough could lead to more personalized healthcare, where disease treatments are tailored to a patient’s biological age.
