Multan Sultans: The Model Franchise
The Multan Sultans — 2021 PSL champions — are the league’s consistency kings: playoff regulars, shrewd at the auction table, and the team every rival uses as a measuring stick. The 2026 season brought change: the franchise moved under new CD Ventures ownership (after the Sialkot Stallionz saga — OZ Developers’ Sialkot bid was sold to CD Ventures, who relocated the franchise to Multan instead). The 2026 captaincy sat with Ashton Turner and the coaching with Tim Paine — an Australian-flavoured rebuild for the men in green.
Multan Cricket Stadium
The Multan Cricket Stadium is one of Pakistan’s most beautiful grounds — and one of the PSL’s six venues in the expanded 2026 season (alongside Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Faisalabad). Known for batting-friendly pitches and big, passionate southern-Punjab crowds, it regularly produces high-scoring T20s. The Sultans’ home advantage here is real: they have historically been among the league’s strongest home sides.
Getting there: the stadium sits on the outskirts of Multan — on matchdays, ride-hailing and local shuttles run from the city centre, but traffic around the ground locks up early, so arrive at least 90 minutes before the first ball. Day matches in March can be hot; carry water and a cap. The stadium’s recent upgrades have improved seating, screens and food courts — it is now firmly in Pakistan’s top tier of cricket venues, and a strong candidate for future international fixtures.
The Sultans’ 2027 outlook: with the auction returning for PSL 12, Multan’s famously shrewd management will rebuild around a new core — watch for their picks; the Sultans have a history of turning unheralded auction buys into stars.
