Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has introduced a major travel facility for Muslims worldwide by launching a new Umrah Visa that allows multiple entries throughout the year. The latest decision gives eligible pilgrims greater flexibility and makes it easier to plan repeated visits without applying for a new visa every time.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the new policy as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the pilgrimage experience. As a result, international visitors can now travel to Saudi Arabia several times on the same Umrah Visa during its validity period.
According to the ministry, the new Umrah Visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of issue. Therefore, travelers can arrange their visits throughout the year rather than rushing to complete their pilgrimage within a limited travel window.
In addition, pilgrims can stay in Saudi Arabia for a combined total of up to 90 days. This arrangement offers greater convenience for families, frequent travelers, and those who wish to perform Umrah more than once a year.
The ministry explained that every visitor must complete the required travel process before each journey. Consequently, pilgrims must choose an approved service package through the Nusuk platform before arriving in the Kingdom.
After selecting the service package, travelers must also obtain a valid Umrah permit. This requirement helps authorities organize pilgrim arrivals and ensure the smooth management of religious services.
Moreover, officials confirmed that the digital system will automatically update the remaining stay period after every departure. Therefore, visitors can easily track the balance of their permitted stay before planning another trip.
The automated update also removes unnecessary confusion about the remaining travel allowance. As a result, pilgrims can organize future visits with greater confidence and clarity.
Saudi Arabia continues to invest in digital services that simplify religious travel. Likewise, the government aims to provide faster procedures and a more comfortable experience for millions of visitors each year.
The latest Umrah Visa reflects that broader vision of improving pilgrimage services. Furthermore, officials hope the new system will reduce paperwork while making international travel more efficient.
Many Muslims perform Umrah more than once because they seek additional opportunities for worship and spiritual reflection. Therefore, a visa that supports multiple entries can save both time and effort for frequent pilgrims.
Travel experts believe the announcement will benefit visitors from many countries. Similarly, travel agencies may find it easier to help clients plan flexible pilgrimage schedules year-round.
Despite the added convenience, the ministry reminded travelers that they must follow all official regulations. Consequently, every pilgrim should complete the required online procedures before every visit.
Officials also advised travelers to verify their travel documents before departure. In addition, visitors should confirm their permits and approved bookings through the official digital platform.
The ministry clarified another important condition regarding the Umrah Visa. However, pilgrims cannot use this visa during the annual Hajj season.
According to the official guidelines, travel under the Umrah Visa will remain suspended from 1 Dhu al-Qi’dah until 13 Dhu al-Hijjah. Therefore, visitors must schedule their journeys outside these dates.
This restriction helps authorities manage the large number of pilgrims arriving for Hajj. Meanwhile, Umrah travel will continue normally before and after the designated Hajj period.
Saudi Arabia has introduced several digital initiatives in recent years to improve religious tourism. As a result, visitors now complete many travel procedures online instead of relying on lengthy manual processes.
The government also continues to expand services that support international pilgrims. Likewise, officials regularly introduce new policies that improve convenience while maintaining organized crowd management.
The introduction of the Umrah Visa with multiple-entry access represents another step toward modernizing pilgrimage travel. Consequently, many travelers will enjoy greater flexibility when planning future religious visits.
Pilgrims should still monitor official announcements before making travel arrangements. Finally, they should follow all ministry instructions to ensure a smooth and successful Umrah journey.
