Peshawar Board Publishes Free Chromebooks List for Class 9 Students

PESHAWAR: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has released the free Chromebooks list for Class 9 students under the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan Initiative, asking affiliated schools to verify their students’ records.

According to an official notification, the board has forwarded the details of eligible students who appeared in the SSC Annual-I Examination 2026 to the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) in Islamabad. The Peshawar board free Chromebooks scheme covers students of public-sector schools affiliated with BISE Peshawar, ProPakistani reported.

Free Chromebooks list: schools told to verify records

BISE Peshawar has directed the heads of affiliated government schools to check the published student lists and verify the academic and personal records of their students. The board has uploaded the list on its official website, allowing school administrations to check the relevant records.

The initiative aims to provide digital learning devices to students in public-sector educational institutions — a significant step for KP, where more than 37,000 classrooms are in dilapidated condition and digital access remains uneven.

What students and parents need to know

Eligibility information circulated with the announcement says students who obtained 424 or more marks in the Science group and 315 or more marks in the Arts group have been identified for consideration. However — and this matters — BISE Peshawar’s official notification does not independently specify these marks as universal eligibility cutoffs. Schools and parents should check the board’s published list before assuming a student’s eligibility, rather than relying on the circulated figures alone.

Final allocation remains subject to verification and the requirements of the Chromebook distribution programme.

How schools must submit verification

The board has laid out a precise process. School heads must complete the prescribed verification form with accurate information, including the student’s name, B-Form number, examination roll number, board registration number, academic marks and institution details.

Schools must attach the student’s marksheet and an attested copy of the B-Form, along with an attested copy of the parent or guardian’s CNIC. The student and the parent or guardian must sign the form; the principal must then verify, sign and stamp it.

The signed hard copies go directly to the Office of the Director Equivalence, Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), Plot No. 25, Street No. 38, G-10/4, Islamabad. School heads must also inform the Director of Research and Development at BISE Peshawar about the submission.

The scheme lands at a busy time for education in the province and beyond. Girls now outnumber boys in Punjab college admissions, Punjab has ordered safety inspections of private schools, and Lahore recently saw an impersonator and three candidates caught cheating in matric exams — a reminder of why verified academic records matter.
