KP Announces 4 Eid Holidays

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially announced four public holidays for Eid al-Adha across the province. Authorities issued the notification ahead of the religious festival to help people prepare for celebrations and travel plans.

According to the official notification released by the Administration Department, the province will observe holidays from May 26 to May 29. During this period, all government offices and public institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain closed.

The provincial government confirmed that the Eid holidays will apply to all departments under its administration. As a result, government employees will enjoy a four-day break for Eid al-Adha.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has also announced holidays for the same dates. Officials in Sindh issued a separate notification confirming four public holidays from May 26 to May 29. Therefore, government offices in Sindh will also remain closed during the festive period.

Earlier, the federal government had announced Eid holidays for government employees across the country. According to the Cabinet Division notification, federal offices will remain closed from May 26 to May 28.

The announcement of Eid holidays has sparked excitement among citizens as they prepare for family gatherings, travel, and religious activities. In addition, transport terminals and markets are expected to see increased public activity before the holidays begin.

Every year, Eid al-Adha brings a busy shopping season across Pakistan. People purchase sacrificial animals, clothes, gifts, and household items before the festival. Therefore, businesses often experience higher customer traffic during the days leading up to Eid.
