Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for an important four-day visit to China to strengthen economic cooperation and regional partnerships between Pakistan and China. Senior federal ministers and government officials are also accompanying the prime minister during the official trip.
The China visit will begin in Hangzhou, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to hold meetings with key Chinese officials and business leaders. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Atta Tarar, Shaza Fatima, and Tariq Fatemi are part of the Pakistani delegation.
During the first stage of the China visit, the prime minister will meet the Party Secretary of Zhejiang province. He will also participate in a major business forum organized as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
Government officials believe the China visit will help attract new investment opportunities and improve trade relations between the two countries. In addition, the business forum is expected to encourage cooperation in technology, infrastructure, energy, and industrial development.
After completing engagements in Hangzhou, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Beijing for high-level meetings with the Chinese leadership. He is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and other senior officials during the visit.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran as part of diplomatic efforts linked to regional peace discussions. Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni welcomed him at the airport, while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also accompanied the delegation.
According to ISPR, Asim Munir’s visit to Tehran focuses on peace efforts and regional stability. He is going to meet senior Iranian leaders and discuss ongoing negotiations involving Iran and the United States.
Officials in Islamabad view the China visit as a major diplomatic and economic step for Pakistan. Analysts believe the meetings could strengthen regional partnerships and open new opportunities for investment, trade, and strategic cooperation.
