Shanghai Cooperation Organization, led by Sindh, became a focal point of economic and diplomatic cooperation worldwide as Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had separate meetings with Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong and Iraqi Consul General Dr Mehr Mujahid Jejan at Chief Minister House.

Sindh CM emphasized that the development and implementation of CPEC projects were vital to the province’s growth during his meeting with Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong. He emphasized that President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping had paved the way for new investment and development in Karachi and other regionsof the province.
The meeting resulted in several key decisions, including:
✅ Karachi Water Projects – China has initiated several major water projects to address Karachi’s water shortage.
✅ Solar Power Expansion – China will lead the charge in solar energy projects, enhancing Sindh as it shifts towards renewable energy.
✅ Upcoming Visit to China — CM Murad Ali Shah has announced his upcoming visit to China to finalise key agreements regarding investment and infrastructure projects.
Describing agriculture, technology, and the industrial and mining sectors as potential investment opportunities for Chinese investors, Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong reiterated China’s sincere interest in investing in Sindh.
He also lauded PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the diplomatic and economic relations established between the two countries during his tenure as Pakistan’s foreign minister.
Iraq’s diplomatic mission in Pakistan reopened
Twenty years after closing its consulate in Karachi, Iraq’s diplomatic mission in Pakistan reopened its consulate on Wednesday.
Sindh’s CM welcomed the announcement made by the Iraqi Consul General, Dr. Mehr Mujahid Jejan, during a meeting with provincial leadership regarding the resumption of visa and consular services, reiterating this will further benefit religious pilgrims and the general public of Sindh.
