Punjab Police has intensified its action against serious criminals across the province. The department announced that it has arrested more than 116,000 wanted offenders during operations conducted throughout 2026.
The Punjab Police’s anti-criminal arrests campaign targeted proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and people who escaped court proceedings. Police teams carried out operations in different districts to improve law and order.
According to Punjab Police officials, the crackdown focused on individuals involved in serious criminal activities. The authorities continued searching for people who remained wanted in different cases.
Police data showed that teams arrested more than 116,000 proclaimed offenders across Punjab. These arrests included criminals from both high-priority and other categories.
The department reported that police arrested around 29,000 Category A proclaimed offenders during the ongoing operations. These offenders faced serious charges and remained among law enforcement agencies’ top priorities.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police also arrested more than 87,000 Category B proclaimed offenders. These arrests helped police reduce the number of people avoiding legal action.
The Punjab Police’s arrests of criminals operation also included action against court absconders. Police teams captured more than 35,500 individuals who failed to appear before courts despite legal proceedings.
Officials said that police arrested over 5,200 Category A court absconders. They also detained more than 30,000 Category B court absconders during different operations.
In addition, Punjab Police continued its efforts against repeat offenders. The department arrested more than 12,800 habitual criminals from across the province.
Police officials explained that these arrests included thousands of high-risk criminals. Teams arrested over 4,400 Category A habitual offenders and more than 8,400 Category B habitual criminals.
Lahore remained a major focus of the operation due to its large population and crime challenges. Police teams in the provincial capital arrested thousands of wanted individuals.
Authorities confirmed that Lahore police arrested more than 26,800 proclaimed offenders during the year. The operation also resulted in the arrest of over 11,200 court absconders.
Furthermore, police in Lahore captured more than 5,200 habitual criminals. These actions aimed to strengthen security and protect citizens.
Punjab Police officials said that the department used coordinated strategies to identify and arrest wanted criminals. Teams from different districts worked together to complete the operations successfully.
Punjab Police Inspector General Abdul Karim appreciated the efforts of police teams involved in the crackdown. He praised officers for their commitment to bringing criminals to justice.
