FAISALABAD: The National Women’s T20 Tournament 2026-27 will be played in Faisalabad from October 10 to 25, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Friday, Geo Super reported.
Five teams — Challengers, Conquerors, Invincibles, Stars and Strikers — will contest the competition in a double-league format. A total of 22 league matches will be played across three venues in the city, with the top two sides progressing to the final.
The final will be staged at Iqbal Stadium on October 25. Seventy-five cricketers will take part in the tournament. Six of them are currently in Pakistan’s U19 squad at the women’s tri-series, also being played in Faisalabad, and will link up with their teams after finishing their national commitments, where Komal Khan’s brisk fifty sealed a win over Sri Lanka.
Star captains headline the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2026-27
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, who recently signed for Perth Scorchers in the WBBL, will lead Strikers. Top-order batters Gull Feroza and Ayesha Zafar will captain Invincibles and Challengers respectively. Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali will lead Conquerors, while leg-spinner Tuba Hassan will captain Stars.
Stars enter the tournament as defending champions. They lifted the title earlier this year after beating Invincibles in the final in Lahore on April 12. The PCB has announced full 15-player squads for all five sides, drawing on the country’s leading domestic and international players.
Prize pool above PKR three million
The prize pool for the tournament is set at more than PKR three million. The winning team will receive PKR 1.5 million, while the runners-up will bag PKR one million.
The tournament gives players a platform to press their claims for national selection — a door Kainat Imtiaz closed after a 13-year Pakistan career. With Pakistan’s women preparing for a busy international calendar, which also features Australia’s ODI series against Bangladesh, selectors will watch performances in Faisalabad closely.
