Amazon launches Bee Frontier and Eclipse AI gadgets that remember your conversations
Amazon has introduced two new Amazon Bee AI gadgets that listen to your conversations and turn them into notes, summaries and to-do lists. The Bee Frontier is a wristband or clip-on wearable priced at $74.99, while the $99.99 Bee Eclipse is a credit-card-sized device that sticks magnetically to the back of a phone.
It is Bee’s first new hardware since Amazon acquired the company last year, ProPakistani reported. The Frontier is on sale now, while the Eclipse will follow soon.
What the new Amazon Bee AI gadgets do
Both devices capture everyday conversations and feed them to the Bee app, which builds summaries, recaps and action items. If you discuss dinner plans with friends, Bee can create a calendar event, and it can keep a record of what your doctor told you during a visit.
The basic service is free. All Bee devices provide conversation summaries and recaps, and keep 14 days of memory at no charge.
An optional Bee Pro subscription costs $11.99 a month. It adds unlimited conversation summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant and conversation templates. It also brings integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party services. New buyers get a 30-day trial of Bee Pro, according to early coverage of the launch.
Bee also works with Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, so it can draft emails, schedule meetings and flag action items. Users can upload photos or connect Apple HealthKit data so the app can fold wellness information into its insights.
Prices, colours and battery life
| Device | Price | Colours | Battery | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bee Frontier | $74.99 | Onyx, Lavender, Sage | Up to seven days | On sale now |
| Bee Eclipse | $99.99 | Silver, Midnight, Honey, Blush | More than 21 days | Coming soon |
The Frontier wears on a wristband or clips to clothing, much like other clip-on wearables such as Samsung’s clip-on Galaxy Buds. It carries two microphones with noise filtering, IP67 water resistance and USB-C charging.
The Eclipse measures just 4.6mm thick and uses four microphones plus a vibration sensor, so it can capture both sides of a phone call as well as in-person chats.
The Eclipse puts Bee into direct competition with dedicated AI note-taking devices such as the Plaud Note and Pocket. The $74.99 Frontier undercuts them all: the Plaud Note costs $159, the Note Pro $189 and the Pocket $129. Full specifications are listed in GSMArena’s launch coverage.
Your audio is deleted after processing
An always-listening gadget raises obvious privacy questions, and Amazon says it has built the devices around a system it calls Bee Private Compute. Audio is processed in real time and then deleted. Raw recordings are never stored.
Conversation transcripts are encrypted with keys created and controlled by the user’s own device. Amazon says even its employees cannot read the transcripts unless the user chooses to share them. Users can delete transcripts and summaries at any time.
Alexa integration is optional: linked Echo devices can capture conversations for Bee’s summaries, and users can ask Alexa to read their to-dos aloud by voice. The launch is part of a wider wave of smart devices that listen and learn, and it comes as safety researchers call for stronger rules around AI.
What this means for buyers in Pakistan
Neither device is officially on sale in Pakistan yet. The Frontier is listed on Amazon’s US store, and the Eclipse has no release date at all, so Pakistani buyers would need to import for now, with shipping costs and customs duty on top of the dollar prices.
Anyone who does import one should also think about consent. A gadget that records all day will capture the voices of people around the wearer, and not everyone in the room will know they are being recorded. That concern applies anywhere, and it is worth weighing before clipping one on in a shared office or classroom.
The launch lands amid a wider push into AI hardware, with Meta launching its own AI gadgets this month.
