Pakistan Cricket Academy: The Complete Guide to PCB’s Training System
When people search for “Pakistan cricket academy”, they usually mean one of two things: the PCB’s National Cricket Academy in Lahore, or the wider system of academies — public and private — where Pakistan’s cricketers are made. This guide covers both: the official PCB pathway and the private academies that feed it.
Quick answer: Pakistan’s cricket academy system is headed by the PCB’s National Cricket Academy in Lahore (founded 2003), supported by high-performance centres in Karachi and Multan, plus hundreds of private academies nationwide. The NCA selects players through performance; private academies take paying students.
The PCB Academy System
At the top sits the National Cricket Academy in Lahore — the board’s finishing school for emerging and elite players. Below it, the 2025 revival added dedicated high-performance centres in Karachi (women’s cricket) and Multan (Under-19s), all under Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed. The age-group pathway runs U15 → U17 → U19, with the Athlete Management System tracking every player’s data. See the full picture in our Pakistan cricket academy hub.
Private Academies
Hundreds of private cricket academies operate in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar and Faisalabad. They offer net practice, coaching, fitness training and match exposure for monthly fees that vary by city — typically a few thousand rupees. Many are run by former first-class cricketers and feed players into district trials.
