The 24/7 Urdu News Channels
Nine channels carry Pakistani news around the clock in Urdu. Geo News (2002, Karachi) is the ratings leader. ARY News (2004) is known for aggressive breaking-news coverage. Dunya News and 92 News anchor Lahore’s news scene; Express News (2008) and Samaa TV (2007) round out Karachi’s big private newsrooms. Bol News leans on talk shows, PTV News is the state broadcaster’s 24/7 service, and 24 News HD — now 24 Digital — completes the set from Lahore. The Story of 24 News HD
When people search “24 7 urdu news”, they often mean 24 News HD itself. It launched on 22 October 2014 as Channel 24, founded by Mohsin Naqvi of the City News Network, initially as a current-affairs-and-talk-show format before converting to a conventional 24-hour news channel. In July 2020 PEMRA suspended its licence over a rebranding dispute (it had been licensed as Value TV) — the channel returned and now broadcasts as 24 Digital, a full HD Urdu news service. Its site is 24newshd.tv.
How to Watch Urdu News Live
Nearly every Urdu news channel streams free: check the channel’s official website or its YouTube channel for the live feed. For international 24/7 news with a Pakistan angle, Al Jazeera’s free live stream is the best English-language complement. Most channels also publish bulletins as on-demand clips, so you can catch the 9pm headlines at midnight.
Prime-Time Talk Shows: Pakistan’s Real Parliament
The 8–11pm talk-show belt is where Pakistan debates itself — ministers, opposition leaders, analysts and anchors arguing the day’s politics live. For current-affairs students, one good talk show teaches more about how the country thinks than a week of headlines. Our daily routine guide shows how to fit it into 20 minutes a day.
