Pakistan News in Urdu: Your Complete Guide to Following It
Pakistan’s national conversation happens in Urdu — the bulletins, the talk shows, the front pages that set the agenda each morning. This guide maps every reliable way to follow Pakistan news in Urdu, from the historic dailies to the 24-hour channels and their digital editions.
Quick answer: Follow Pakistan news in Urdu through the major dailies (Jang, Express, Nawa-i-Waqt, Dunya) and their websites, the 24-hour channels (Geo News, ARY News, Dunya News, Samaa TV, Express News, 92 News, Hum News) and their apps and YouTube streams. Urdu is the national language, so these outlets command the country’s largest news audiences.
Urdu Print: The Dailies
Daily Jang (founded 1939) remains Pakistan’s largest Urdu daily, with editions from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and Peshawar. Daily Express is its great rival; Nawa-i-Waqt (1940) carries the legacy of the Pakistan Movement in Lahore; Roznama Dunya is strong across Punjab; and Aaj, Ausaf, Jasarat and Ummat serve regional audiences. All run e-papers — the full print edition, free, on their websites every morning. For the wider media landscape, see our Pakistan Urdu News complete guide.
Urdu TV News
Since Geo News launched in 2002, Pakistan’s Urdu news channels have multiplied: Geo News, ARY News, Dunya News, Samaa TV, Express News, 92 News, Hum News, Bol News, Aaj News and GNN, plus state-run PTV News. The 9 PM bulletins and 8–11 PM talk shows are where the national agenda is set each night. Every channel streams live on YouTube and its own app.
Online and on Your Phone
The fastest legitimate Urdu news is digital: jang.com.pk, express.pk, the channels’ sites and apps, and their verified YouTube channels publish around the clock. Set up notifications from two outlets you trust rather than relying on WhatsApp forwards — which is where most fake news begins. Our Current Affairs of Pakistan Today briefing gives you the verified headlines each morning.
