Pakistan has rejected claims linking the Field Marshal Iran Visit to US President Donald Trump. The Foreign Office said the visit formed part of Pakistan’s independent diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi addressed the issue during his weekly briefing in Islamabad. He clearly stated that the Field Marshal did not travel to Iran as a representative of President Trump or the United States.
Instead, Andrabi said Pakistan arranged the visit as part of its continuing peace initiative. He added that Islamabad wants to encourage dialogue and reduce tensions across the region through active diplomacy.
The spokesperson explained that the Chief of Defense Forces held important discussions with Iranian officials during the Field Marshal Iran Visit. These talks mainly focused on regional peace, stability, and ways to ease existing tensions.
Moreover, Pakistan continues to engage with both Tehran and Washington. Islamabad wants to create opportunities for dialogue and prevent tensions between Iran and the United States from creating wider instability.
Andrabi also rejected reports linking the visit directly to Washington. He called claims that the Field Marshal acted for President Trump baseless and clarified Pakistan’s official position.
According to the Foreign Office, Islamabad pursued the visit through its own diplomatic initiative. Therefore, Pakistan did not conduct the Field Marshal Iran Visit under instructions from the United States or any other foreign government.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has continued to present itself as a diplomatic bridge during periods of tension between Iran and the United States. The country maintains relations with Tehran while also keeping diplomatic channels open with Washington.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans to travel to Bishkek for the SCO summit. During the visit, he will participate in high-level discussions and meet with Kyrgyzstan’s leadership.
The summit will provide Pakistan with another opportunity to discuss regional cooperation and stability. Islamabad continues to view multilateral platforms as important channels for addressing political, economic and security challenges.
