A few months of marriage. A few years of service. A lifetime of honour, compressed into the shortest of stories.
Lieutenant Syed Yousuf Hasan of the Pakistan Army, an officer of the 145th Long Course serving with 39 Supply and Transport (Army Service Corps), was a young officer at the start of a life full of promise. On 3 July 2024, he embraced martyrdom while serving in Multan.
He had been married only a few months before his death. In 2026, the nation marked his 2nd shahadat anniversary — two years since a young lieutenant with everything ahead of him did not come home. His course mates of the 145th Long Course remember him as the pride of their course.
A Newlywed Officer
Lieutenant Yousuf Hasan had been married only a few months before his death. Like so many young officers, he was building a life and a career at the same time, carrying the hopes of his family and his new wife into every day of service. That his life ended so early, with so much ahead of him, is a grief that words can barely touch.
The 145th Long Course is a young course, its officers still in the early chapters of their careers. Lieutenant Syed Yousuf Hasan was among its promising young officers, building the foundation of a life in uniform with the energy and optimism of youth. His course mates remember him with the particular grief reserved for one taken at the very beginning, when everything still lay ahead.
Service in Multan
He served in Multan with the dedication expected of an officer of the Pakistan Army. Multan, the historic garrison city, remembers him as one of the young officers who gave the garrison its spirit. His service there was brief but honourable, and those who served alongside him speak of an officer who took his duties seriously, his friendships warmly, and his responsibilities to heart.
Officers of the Army Service Corps perform the essential, unglamorous work that keeps the Army functioning — supply, transport, logistics. Lieutenant Yousuf Hasan served in that vital arm with the pride of the 145th Long Course, at the very start of what should have been a long and distinguished career.

Remembered Every 3 July
Every year on 3 July, his shahadat anniversary is observed with honour. Behind every officer who falls stands a family whose plans are shattered in an instant, whose future is rewritten by a single day — a young wife, widowed within months of her wedding, carrying a grief no one should ever have to bear. The nation honours Lieutenant Yousuf Hasan’s service, and it holds his wife and his family in its thoughts and prayers, today and always.
There is a special sorrow in the loss of the very young in uniform. Lieutenant Syed Yousuf Hasan had not yet had the chance to fulfil the promise his course mates saw in him — but in a deeper sense, his service was already complete. He gave everything he had. The oath he took as a young lieutenant was kept in full.
Lieutenant Syed Yousuf Hasan Shaheed wore the uniform with pride and left it with honour. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give his wife and family the strength to carry a loss words cannot measure. Pakistan remembers its young lieutenant, and all its shuhada, with everlasting love and gratitude.
