What Is Pak Secretariat?
The Pakistan Secretariat (Urdu: دفترِ متعمد پاکستان) — officially the Federal Secretariat — is the headquarters of the Cabinet and the Government of Pakistan, sitting in Islamabad’s high-security Red Zone on Constitution Avenue. It is where the federal ministries and divisions are housed, where cabinet summaries are prepared, and where the machinery of the federation turns. The Cabinet Division (cabinet.gov.pk), led by the Cabinet Secretary (Kamran Ali Afzal), coordinates the ministries from here under the Prime Minister. The complete Pak Secretariat guide.

The Blocks
The Secretariat’s blocks run A to Z plus the Kohsar Block (Block K). The best-known addresses in Pakistani bureaucracy are here: Q Block (Finance Division — where the budget is made), R Block (Interior — led by Minister Mohsin Naqvi), P Block (Planning). The Kohsar Block alone houses the Intelligence Bureau HQ, the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission HQ, the Board of Investment and half a dozen ministries. Block-wise detail: Pak Secretariat Islamabad.
The Architecture
The Secretariat buildings were the first official structures built in Islamabad, under the capital’s master plan by the Athens firm Doxiadis Associates. They form two groups of four L-shaped blocks (four and six storeys), linked by circulation bridges — modernist office blocks whose interrupted massing plays against the Margalla Hills backdrop (Aga Khan Trust for Culture). The complex is a protected part of the capital’s architectural heritage.
Official Portals
The Government of Pakistan’s main portal is pakistan.gov.pk; individual ministries live on .gov.pk domains (interior.gov.pk, finance.gov.pk, cabinet.gov.pk). The Gazette of Pakistan (official notifications) and the Finance Division’s notifications are published online — guides: Gazette of Pakistan and Finance Division notifications.
