Islamabad: Talks between the United States and Iran are likely to take place in Islamabad next week, according to reports citing Pakistani security sources.
A report by Al Jazeera quoted officials who suggested that a second round of negotiations could begin before Friday. The assessment is based on multiple security and logistical developments observed in the capital.
Sources indicated that two US logistical aircraft have already landed at Nur Khan Airbase, pointing toward preparations for high-level engagements. Authorities have also reportedly imposed temporary restrictions on key routes leading to Islamabad’s Red Zone.
Security measures have been tightened across the city, with roads being closed and movement controlled in sensitive areas. Officials said these steps are part of precautionary arrangements for potential diplomatic activity.
In addition, several hotels in Islamabad have reportedly been cleared of guests, and new bookings have been restricted until Friday. The move suggests heightened readiness for official delegations.
While no formal announcement has been made, the developments indicate that Islamabad could host an important round of US-Iran negotiations in the coming days.
Observers believe that if confirmed, the talks could play a key role in easing regional tensions and advancing diplomatic efforts between the two countries.
