Islamabad: A recent report by Asia Times suggests that the United States is finding it increasingly difficult to rely on India following the strengthening of its relations with Pakistan.
According to the report, Pakistan played a significant diplomatic role during recent discussions involving Iran and the United States, particularly in efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region. The publication noted that Pakistan remained actively engaged in promoting dialogue and stability.
In contrast, the report highlighted that India maintained a relatively low diplomatic profile on key regional matters. It stated that Indian leadership primarily focused on economic and supply-related discussions during engagements with US officials.
The analysis further claimed that Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy has strengthened its position as a key player in regional peace efforts. As a result, Washington’s strategic outlook may be shifting, making reliance on India less certain in certain contexts.
The report also pointed out that since the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran, Pakistan has remained actively involved in mediation efforts. Political and military leadership in Pakistan reportedly maintained continuous communication with both sides to support ceasefire initiatives.
Additionally, global leaders, including Donald Trump and Masoud Pezeshkian, have acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability. Observers say such recognition reflects growing international appreciation of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
Meanwhile, the report noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has faced criticism from opposition leaders and segments of the media within India over the country’s diplomatic stance in the region.
