Pakistan’s Health Ministry has signed an important agreement with NADRA to improve the digital system of the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis C Program. The move aims to strengthen patient registration, tracking, and verification nationwide.
The signing ceremony took place at NADRA Headquarters. Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar attended the event. Senior officials from both departments also joined the ceremony.
Under the agreement, NADRA will develop a modern digital data management system for the Health Ministry. The system will help officials manage patient records more quickly and more efficiently. In addition, authorities will use real-time data sharing for patient verification and monitoring.
Officials said the new system will improve transparency and reduce delays in healthcare services. As a result, patients will receive better support during treatment and follow-up procedures. The Health Ministry also plans to use digital tools to improve healthcare planning in the future.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal called the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis C Program a major national initiative. He said Pakistan faces a serious health challenge because millions of citizens suffer from Hepatitis C. According to officials, nearly one crore people in the country live with the disease.
Furthermore, Pakistan remains among the countries most affected by Hepatitis C worldwide. Therefore, the government wants to improve early diagnosis and treatment through technology-based solutions.
The Health Ministry believes the partnership with NADRA will help build a reliable healthcare database. Officials also expect the digital system to support national health campaigns more effectively.
Meanwhile, experts have welcomed the agreement and described it as a positive step for Pakistan’s healthcare sector. They believe that digital integration can improve patient care and strengthen disease control efforts nationwide.
