Pakistan Claims 8 Indian Jets Downed in Operation Bunyan Marsoos

Pakistan Air Force officials revisited the events of Operation Bunyan Marsoos during a press conference held in Rawalpindi on the completion of one year of Maarka-e-Haq. Senior military officials shared details about the operation and praised the coordination between Pakistan’s armed forces during the conflict.

During the briefing, Tariq Ghazi, Deputy Chief of Air Staff Projects, claimed that Pakistan shot down eight Indian aircraft during Operation Bunyan Marsoos. He stated that the count now stands at “8-0.”

According to him, the downed aircraft included four Dassault Rafale jets along with one Sukhoi Su-30, one Mikoyan MiG-29, and one Dassault Mirage 2000. He also claimed that Pakistan destroyed an advanced multi-role unmanned aerial system during the operation.

Tariq Ghazi said Pakistan prepared itself for future warfare and maintained confidence throughout the conflict. He added that Pakistan Air Force pilots entered combat missions without fear and showed complete dedication during Operation Bunyan Marsoos.

At the same press conference, officials from the Pakistan Navy also discussed their role during the conflict. A senior naval official said the Indian Navy repeatedly attempted to deploy its fleet during Maarka-e-Haq. Despite those efforts, Pakistan kept its ports operational and protected all coastal installations.

The naval official added that strong coordination between all branches of the armed forces ensured operational success. He also warned that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be viewed as weakness.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the world witnessed only a small percentage of Pakistan’s actual military capability during the conflict. He claimed Pakistan defeated an enemy five times larger in a multi-domain war environment.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also criticized India’s narrative regarding terrorism. He alleged that India attempts to blame Pakistan while ignoring its own actions in regions like Kashmir and Manipur.

He further referred to the Pahalgam incident and questioned India’s investigation process. According to him, Pakistan had raised several questions after the incident, but India still had not provided clear answers. He questioned how Indian authorities registered a case within minutes and blamed cross-border elements despite the distance involved.

The military officials used the occasion to highlight operational readiness, inter-services coordination, and Pakistan’s military response capabilities during Operation Bunyan Marsoos.
