Mir Raza Death: Grave Exhumation Today in Karachi

Karachi: Authorities will exhume the grave of young businessman Mir Raza Ali today as investigators seek clarity about his mysterious death. The latest development has brought the Mir Raza Death case back into focus.

Officials have scheduled the exhumation for 11:00 a.m. on August 8, 2026. A medical board will examine the body under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.

Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed has issued instructions for the procedure. She has also directed all medical board members to reach the cemetery by 10:30 a.m.

Authorities have also informed SSP East about the scheduled proceedings. Likewise, the relevant SHOs and the investigating officer have received details about the planned examination.

The family hopes the procedure will help experts establish the exact cause behind the young businessman’s death. Therefore, the findings could play an important role in the ongoing Mir Raza Death investigation.

The Sindh Health Department has also restored the original medical board after concerns from the deceased businessman’s father. Mir Hussain had strongly demanded changes to the arrangements surrounding the exhumation.

Consequently, the department restored its first notification concerning the medical board. Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed will continue to lead the team as its convener.

The board includes specialists from several medical and forensic fields. These experts will examine available evidence and assist investigators in determining the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza Ali’s death.

Forensic expert Dr. Farah Waseem forms part of the team. In addition, pathologist Professor Dr. Naseem and CPLC Identification Project forensic identification expert Amir Hassan will participate in the process.

Other specialists will also assist the medical board during the examination. Furthermore, the board can seek help from additional experts if the circumstances require further professional input.

The Mir Raza Death case has attracted attention because disputes over the medical board previously delayed the exhumation. Authorities had planned the procedure earlier, but disagreements prevented the process from moving forward on Friday.

Mir Raza Ali’s father and the family’s lawyer, Jibran Nasir, raised serious objections over changes to the medical team. They questioned the composition of the newly announced board and demanded greater clarity.

The family then sent urgent notices to the Karachi police surgeon and the Sindh health secretary. Through these notices, they highlighted their concerns about the medical board and the investigation process.

The disagreement became more complicated when members of two medical boards reached the cemetery. Consequently, uncertainty over which team should conduct the examination created another hurdle in the proceedings.

Jibran Nasir also called on the Sindh chief minister to take notice of the situation. Meanwhile, the family continued to demand a process that could address its concerns and ensure a credible examination.

The judicial magistrate has also clarified how authorities will proceed with the matter. The investigating officer will consider statements from the concerned parties along with objections connected to the case.

After reviewing those details, the investigating officer will submit a report to the magistrate. Therefore, the official record could become an important part of the wider Mir Raza Death inquiry.

The controversy over the medical board began after authorities changed its composition. Officials initially formed an eight-member board to conduct the grave exhumation and medical examination.

However, authorities later introduced another board containing five members instead of eight. The revised team also included Hyderabad Police Surgeon Dr. Waseem.

Mir Raza Ali’s father rejected the second board and expressed strong reservations about the changes. As a result, officials issued another notification in an attempt to resolve the dispute.

The third notification combined members from the first and second medical boards. However, the family also raised concerns over that arrangement and continued to seek changes.

The Sindh Health Department later restored the original medical board following the family’s objections. Consequently, the latest decision has cleared the way for today’s scheduled exhumation.

The examination could provide investigators with important medical evidence about how Mir Raza Ali died. Forensic specialists may examine remains and collect relevant samples according to the requirements of the investigation.

The Mir Raza Death investigation now enters an important stage as the medical board prepares to conduct its work. The findings could help authorities address unanswered questions surrounding the businessman’s death.

For the family, establishing the cause of death remains the central concern. Their repeated objections to changes in the medical board show their demand for a transparent and reliable examination process.

Meanwhile, investigators will continue to collect information connected with the case. They will also consider medical findings alongside statements, objections, and other available evidence.

The judicial magistrate’s supervision adds another formal layer to today’s proceedings. Moreover, the involvement of forensic and pathology specialists could help investigators obtain a clearer medical assessment.

The restored medical board now carries the responsibility of examining the case carefully. Its findings could influence the direction of the investigation once experts complete their work.

Ultimately, today’s grave exhumation could mark a crucial development in the Mir Raza Death case. Mir Raza Ali’s family now hopes the medical examination will provide clear answers about the circumstances and cause of his death.
