In this guide
#1 — 2020 final: Karachi’s coronation
Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars — National Stadium, Karachi, November 2020. The only PSL final between the two, played in a near-empty stadium in the pandemic year. Babar Azam — the tournament’s best batter — anchored the chase as Karachi claimed their first and only PSL title. For Lahore, the nearly-men tag; for Karachi, immortality at their rivals’ expense.
#2 — 2025 Eliminator: Lahore’s revenge
Lahore Qalandars won by 6 wickets — Gaddafi Stadium, 22 May 2025. Knockout cricket at its purest: Karachi posted 190/8, and Lahore hunted it down with 8 balls to spare (191/4). The win ended Karachi’s campaign and launched Lahore’s — the Qalandars went on to win their third PSL title days later. The most consequential Lahore win in the fixture’s history.
#3 — 2018 Dubai: the Super Over
Tied — Lahore won the one-over eliminator, Dubai, 11 March 2018. Karachi’s 163/5 (Simmons and Babar fifties) looked enough until Fakhar and Agha Salman dragged Lahore level. In the Super Over, Lahore held their nerve — the only tie in 24 meetings, and proof this fixture could produce anything.
#4 — 2022 Karachi: Fakhar’s 106
Lahore won by 6 wickets — National Stadium, 30 January 2022. Fakhar Zaman’s 106 off 60 balls — the fixture’s only century — in a winning chase. The innings that made him the rivalry’s all-time leading run-scorer (681 runs) and gave Lahore one of their sweetest away wins.
#5 — 2023 Lahore: the 86-run rout
Karachi won by 86 runs — Gaddafi Stadium, 12 March 2023. Karachi’s 196/7, then Lahore skittled for 110 — the biggest margin in the rivalry and the centrepiece of Karachi’s 2023 double. A reminder that on their day, the Kings don’t just beat Lahore — they embarrass them.
