Vivo has launched the Vivo V80, its latest V-series smartphone, with a substantially bigger battery and the newest OriginOS 7 software. The company launched the phone on Tuesday, October 6, with the phone arriving in three colours and a Zeiss-backed camera system.
The headline upgrade is the 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging, a significant jump over the previous generation. Vivo says the phone keeps a slim profile despite the larger cell, measuring 7.79mm thick and weighing 210g.
Vivo V80 display and design
The Vivo V80 carries a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The panel supports HDR10+, 10-bit colour and reaches up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness.
Vivo has used an aluminium frame and a glass back for the phone. It carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. Colour options are Horizon Blue, Stellar Black and Sunrise Anthem.
Performance and software
Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process. The octa-core CPU pairs one Cortex-720 core clocked at 2.8GHz with four Cortex-720 cores at 2.4GHz and three Cortex-520 cores at 1.8GHz, with an Adreno 722 GPU handling graphics.
The phone ships with 8GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage. There is no card slot. It runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7 out of the box.
Other features include an under-display fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC and eSIM support.
Vivo V80 cameras
The Vivo V80 uses a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera system. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-700V sensor with autofocus and optical image stabilisation. It is joined by a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, along with an 8MP ultrawide camera.
The main camera supports 4K cinematic video and 4K recording at 60fps. On the front, the phone has a 50MP wide camera with autofocus.
Battery and pricing
The 7,200mAh battery supports 90W wired charging. Vivo has not announced Pakistan-specific pricing or availability yet.
International pricing starts at ₹62,999 (roughly $700) for the 8GB/128GB version, with higher storage tiers priced accordingly.
