SpaceXAI Plans Single Subscription for X, Grok and Cursor With $100 Ultra Tier

SpaceXAI Plans Single Subscription for X, Grok and Cursor With $100 Ultra Tier

A SpaceXAI subscription would put X, Grok and Cursor under one bill. According to Bloomberg, the AI arm of Elon Musk’s SpaceX is reviewing a complete overhaul of how it prices its products, replacing today’s confusing split checkout with a single unified bill.

The new plan reportedly includes four tiers. The free tier gives users access to Grok with tighter usage limits. The Lite tier costs $8 per month and adds a verified checkmark on X along with fewer ads and expanded Grok access. At the top, the Ultra tier costs $100 per month and targets power users with the Grok Bot AI agent. A leaked screen recording on X also showed plans reaching up to $200 per month with Cursor bundled directly into the tiers, TechJuice reported.

“We’ve unified plans across Grok, Cursor, and X Premium. Introducing The X Subscription,” the company’s SpaceX Super Intelligence account posted on X on October 12.

What the SpaceXAI subscription would include

The star of the Ultra tier is Grok Bot, which SpaceXAI launched in beta in August 2026. Unlike a regular chatbot, each Grok Bot gets its own dedicated cloud computer. These agents can work across apps, websites and files even when the user’s own computer stays off. Users can also run multiple Bots at once that communicate with each other and share context on overlapping projects.

SpaceXAI says internal versions already handle tasks like overnight sales research, pulling expense receipts from email and fixing software bugs. Grok Bot currently runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and iOS, with Android support coming later.

The current pricing is genuinely confusing. X charges $3 for Basic, $8 for Premium and $40 for Premium+. Grok runs separately at $30 for SuperGrok, $100 for SuperGrok Plus and $300 for SuperGrok Heavy. That gives users seven options across just two products. Meanwhile, SpaceX agreed in June to acquire Anysphere, the maker of Cursor, in a $60 billion all-stock deal, adding yet another subscription to untangle.

The financial pressure behind this move is real. Grok has reached roughly 117 million monthly active users, but only about 1.9 million actually pay for premium tiers, a conversion rate of just 1.6 per cent. The AI business lost $1.46 billion in the quarter ending September 2025 alone, after a $1 billion loss the quarter before, though revenue nearly doubled to $107 million that quarter.

Rivals are rewriting their own price lists

SpaceXAI is not alone in shaking up AI pricing. OpenAI recently halved usage limits on its $200 ChatGPT Pro plan and launched a $500 tier. Meta rolled out Meta One subscriptions worldwide starting at $2.99. The race is shifting from who has the smartest model to who can package AI into a subscription people will actually keep paying for.

Regulatory clouds hang over the expansion too. The European Commission opened an investigation into X in January 2026 over risks tied to Grok, and EU AI Act transparency rules took effect in August. A ban on AI systems generating non-consensual explicit content takes effect in December 2026.

Security concerns also persist. An earlier investigation found that Grok Build uploaded entire Git repositories and their commit histories to company cloud servers, potentially exposing committed secrets and sensitive code. SpaceXAI now advises users to review approval and privacy settings before granting Grok Bot access to sensitive systems.

For users in Pakistan, where dollar-denominated subscriptions already strain freelancers and developers, a single $100 Ultra tier will be a niche product. The more relevant change is the $8 Lite tier, which could become the default entry point for X verification and expanded Grok access if the overhaul goes ahead. None of this is confirmed yet: Bloomberg’s reporting describes internal documents, and SpaceXAI has made no official announcement.

What is the SpaceXAI unified subscription?

A reported plan to merge X, Grok and Cursor billing into one four-tier subscription, from a free Grok tier to a $100-per-month Ultra tier with the Grok Bot AI agent.

How much would the top tier cost?

The Ultra tier is expected to cost $100 per month, targeting power users with the Grok Bot agent. Leaked screens have shown plans reaching up to $200 per month with Cursor bundled in.

Has SpaceXAI confirmed the new pricing?

No. The details come from internal documents reviewed by Bloomberg. SpaceXAI has not officially announced the changes or a launch date.
