Classic Cricket 07 Now Playable in Browser With Online Multiplayer

EA Sports’ Cricket 07, the beloved 2006 cricket game, can now be played directly in a web browser — and the new version adds something the original never had: online multiplayer, so two friends can face off from different cities.

The browser port was built by developer Dhaiwat, who announced it on X this week. “Cricket 07 with an online multiplayer mode. Play with your friends. All you need is a web browser,” he wrote.

How the Cricket 07 browser port works

The game runs at cricket07.dhaiwat.com. Players can choose Play Solo to take on the computer offline or share controllers on the same device, or Play Multiplayer for an online 1v1 match.

To start an online game, one player hosts and receives a room code to send to a friend, who enters the code — or opens a shared invite link — to join. Players can pick a server region, with Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and North America on offer. The site recommends choosing a server between the two players when they are in different countries, and input delay can be set from 67ms to 300ms or left on auto.

On the first visit, the site downloads roughly 1.2GB of game files and stores them in the browser for later sessions. Dhaiwat recommends Google Chrome, noting that Safari does not handle the port well. The project follows a similar experiment that got GTA V running in Chrome without cloud gaming or installation.

Keyboard controls keep it simple: arrow keys set shot direction and ball placement, S plays a normal shot or stock delivery, Shift lofts it, D takes a run, and Alt+Enter switches to full screen. Controller support is claimed, though the developer says he has not tested it himself — one player replied that a short match on controller worked well.

A 2006 classic returns

Cricket 07 was developed by HB Studios and EA Canada and published by EA Sports for Windows and PlayStation 2 in November 2006. The website credits EA Sports with the original game’s copyright and notes it was ported to the browser by Dhaiwat.

For Pakistani gamers, the timing is pure nostalgia. Cricket 07 dominated PC gaming in Pakistan through the late 2000s — it was the game of internet cafes and school holidays, modded endlessly with updated squads and kits long after EA moved on. An Asia-Pacific server region means local players should get the smoothest online matches, and the 1.2GB one-time download is modest by modern standards.

Newer cricket titles have since come from other studios, but none captured the local imagination quite like Cricket 07. If you grew up on it, the best cricket games for mobile and PC are worth a look too — and with PSL 2026 on the horizon, there is plenty to play. Planning to watch live? FAQs

How can I play Cricket 07 in my browser?

Visit cricket07.dhaiwat.com in Google Chrome. The first visit downloads about 1.2GB of game files into your browser’s storage, after which the game runs without installation.

Does the browser version of Cricket 07 have multiplayer?

Yes. The port adds online multiplayer: one player hosts a game, shares a room code or invite link, and a friend joins for a 1v1 match from anywhere.

Which server region should Pakistani players choose?

Asia-Pacific is the closest option and should give the lowest latency for players in Pakistan. The site suggests picking a server between the two players when they are in different countries.

Is the Cricket 07 browser port official?

No. It is a fan-made port by developer Dhaiwat. The site credits EA Sports with the original 2006 game’s copyright.
