Lahore: The Punjab government has introduced a major initiative under the government land lease program to support farmers. As a result, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” portal to provide land access to thousands of people.
This government land lease scheme targets 50,000 farmers across Punjab. Moreover, it aims to boost agricultural productivity and create sustainable income opportunities. Therefore, the initiative offers a strong opportunity for landless individuals to enter farming.
To qualify for this government land lease, applicants must meet clear conditions. First, a person must be landless or own a small residential plot of up to 10 marla. In addition, the applicant must live permanently in the same revenue area as the land.
Furthermore, only one person per family can apply. Meanwhile, individuals who have already benefited from any government allotment cannot apply again. Similarly, government employees and their dependents do not qualify for this government land lease scheme.
The application process for the government land remains simple and accessible. Applicants can submit forms online through the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PELRA) website.
Alternatively, they can apply manually at the Assistant Commissioner’s office. After submission, the Scrutiny and Monitoring Committee will carefully review all applications.
Next, officials will publish a list of eligible candidates for computerized balloting. This list will appear both online and at local offices. Consequently, transparency will remain a key feature of this government land lease program.
Under this scheme, successful applicants will receive agricultural land worth millions. As a result, beneficiaries can start farming and improve their livelihoods. In addition, the initiative will encourage the creation of new agricultural businesses and rural development.
The selection process for the land lease depends on computerized balloting. Authorities will choose candidates fairly from the eligible pool. After final approval, the Assistant Commissioner will issue allotment orders. Then, officials will ensure that successful applicants receive possession of the land without delay.
Overall, this government land lease initiative reflects a strong commitment to economic growth. Most importantly, it provides real opportunities for farmers to build a better future by giving them access to land and resources.
