Rain and Strong Winds Alert

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a Strong Winds Alert for several regions of the country. According to the latest forecast, many upper areas may receive rain and gusty winds from May 10 to 12. As a result, authorities have advised citizens to stay updated about changing weather conditions.

The Strong Winds Alert mainly covers the upper parts of Pakistan. Weather experts expect rain across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next three days. In addition, several cities may experience thunderstorms and strong wind activity.

Islamabad may also receive rainfall accompanied by dusty winds. Therefore, officials have urged commuters and travelers to remain careful during outdoor activities.

The weather department further expanded the Strong Winds Alert to different regions of Punjab, including the Pothohar area. Moreover, forecasts suggest rain in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir from May 11 to 13.

Meanwhile, the southern parts of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan may continue to face intense heat. Weather officials expect temperatures to remain above normal in these regions. Consequently, heatwave concerns remain active in many districts.

Earlier, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority warned about unusual weather patterns during May, June, and July. Officials predicted higher temperatures and above-average rainfall in several areas of Punjab. Therefore, the latest Strong Winds Alert adds to growing weather concerns across the province.

According to official forecasts, northern and northwestern Punjab may receive heavier rainfall than usual. However, central Punjab could see near-normal rainfall. At the same time, eastern Punjab may receive slightly lower rainfall compared to average seasonal levels.

Authorities had already warned about severe heatwave conditions from May 7 to 11. Therefore, changing weather patterns now create mixed conditions across different regions of the country.

Experts advise people to avoid unnecessary travel during storms and follow safety instructions issued under the Strong Winds Alert. Citizens should also protect themselves from extreme heat in southern regions while preparing for possible rain and wind in upper areas.
