REDMAGIC 12 Pro Goes Global With 8,400mAh Battery

The REDMAGIC 12 Pro has launched in global markets, a month after its China debut. The gaming phone keeps the China model’s core hardware, with one notable change: global buyers get 80W wired charging instead of 120W.

The phone is built around a 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform, built on a 2-nanometre process, alongside REDMAGIC’s own RedCore R5 gaming chip. An 8,400mAh battery powers the package, with 80W wired and 80W wireless charging on the global model.

The official store opened on 3 November. Early Bird voucher purchases run from 12 November, Early Bird access follows on 17 November, and open sales begin on 18 November. Early Bird buyers also receive a complimentary 80W fast charger and a REDMAGIC-branded item.

REDMAGIC 12 Pro specifications in full

The display measures 6.85 inches, with a resolution of 2688 by 1216 pixels. It offers a 185Hz refresh rate, up to 960Hz touch sampling, 10-bit colour depth, and full DCI-P3 colour coverage. Peak brightness reaches 2,000 nits in the FoneArena specification list, while REDMAGIC’s own material cites up to 5,000 nits local peak brightness. The panel has no punch-hole or notch, thanks to a 16-megapixel under-display front camera.

Memory and storage come in three tiers: 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, 16GB with 512GB, and 16GB with 1TB. The RAM is LPDDR5T and the storage is UFS 4.1. The phone runs Android 17 with REDMAGIC OS 12, and it supports dual SIM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB Type-C.

The rear camera pair combines a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The phone also carries an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and an infrared sensor. It measures 163.03 by 75.96 by 8.55 millimetres, weighs 223 grammes, and carries an IPX8 water resistance rating.

Cooling is the phone’s signature feature. The AquaCore Cooling System 3.0 combines air and liquid cooling with a built-in fan and RGB lighting, a design meant to hold gaming performance steady during long sessions. Touch-sensitive shoulder buttons support faster in-game response, though the global model’s trigger sampling rate is 520Hz, below the China model’s 700Hz.

REDMAGIC 12 Pro price and availability

Pricing varies by market. In the United States, the 12GB and 256GB model costs 949 dollars, the 16GB and 512GB model costs 1,049 dollars, and the 16GB and 1TB model costs 1,199 dollars. In the United Kingdom, the same tiers cost 799 pounds, 889 pounds, and 1,059 pounds. In the European Union, they cost 899 euros, 999 euros, and 1,199 euros. Some other markets list the base model at 899 dollars.

The launch covers Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia Pacific including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and New Zealand, and the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. Latin American coverage includes Mexico and Chile, and the list also names Israel and Turkey.

Pakistani buyers should note what is missing from that list. Pakistan is not named among the launch markets, and no Pakistan price or sale date has been confirmed. Imported units may still reach local shops, but buyers should expect grey-market pricing and should check warranty terms before paying, since the official launch does not cover Pakistan.

How the global model differs from the China model

In China, the same phone launched last month as the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+. The global model keeps the display, chip, battery, and cameras, but it trims wired charging from 120W to 80W. It also drops the 24GB RAM tier offered in China, topping out at 16GB.

Those changes reflect the usual trade-offs of a global release, where charging standards, adapter rules, and regional pricing all shape the final product. The battery itself is unchanged at 8,400mAh, which remains large by flagship standards and is the phone’s clearest selling point for heavy gamers.

The phone also arrives into a busy flagship season. Feature Pakistan has covered a Vivo V80 FE leak with a 7,000mAh battery and Apple’s record 114.5 billion dollar quarter. Against those rivals, REDMAGIC is not competing on cameras or brand reach. It is competing on sustained gaming performance, a screen without a camera cutout, and a battery built for long play sessions.

Whether that pitch wins buyers will depend on price in each market and on early reviews of heat and battery life. On paper, the 12 Pro is a focused gaming flagship with few compromises outside charging speed. The open sale on 18 November will show whether players agree.
