Pak Passport Online: Apply & Renew on the DGIP Portal (Inland & Overseas)
You can start your Pakistani passport application — and complete renewals — online through DGIP’s e-services portal, without an office visit for the paperwork. This guide explains the online process for inland applicants and overseas Pakistanis, how payment works, and what still requires an in-person visit.
Quick answer: Apply or renew at DGIP’s e-services portal (dgip.gov.pk/eServices / onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk): create an account, fill the form, upload documents, pay by card (Visa/Mastercard) or Raast QR, then visit an RPO for biometrics and photo (inland) — overseas applicants complete biometrics at the nearest Pakistani mission. Fees are non-refundable.

Online process for inland applicants
- Create an account on the DGIP e-services portal and verify your email/mobile.
- Choose the service: new, renewal, or reprint (lost/damaged/exhausted).
- Fill in personal details exactly as on your CNIC; select pages, validity and service type (Normal/Urgent/Fast Track).
- Upload a compliant photograph and supporting documents.
- Pay online — then book/visit an RPO for biometric capture and the official photograph.
Starting online saves the data-entry queue at the office; it doesn’t remove the biometric visit. Keep the application/token reference to track your passport afterwards.
For overseas Pakistanis
Overseas applicants get the fullest online service: new passports for newborns (under 2 years), renewals, and reprints for damage or exhausted pages can all be processed online, with fee payment by credit/debit card at the final step. Biometric verification goes through the nearest Pakistani diplomatic mission. Home delivery is available for overseas applicants (inland applicants collect from their RPO). Track via the portal or email mrponline@dgip.gov.pk with your Online Tracking ID and CNIC.
Paying the fee online
Online payments accept Visa/Mastercard; inland applicants can also use the Passport Fee Asaan app or Raast QR. DGIP has discontinued IBFT/PSID transfers — do not pay by bank transfer to an IBAN. Fees are non-refundable: double-check pages, validity and service type before paying, because a wrong payment delays processing and won’t be returned.
What still needs a visit
Biometric capture (fingerprints) and the official photograph happen at an RPO or NADRA centre — no way around it for inland applicants. First-time adult applicants may also face police verification of their address. After submission, collection is in person (applicant or blood relative with the original token) within 30 days. Find your office: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad G-10, Faisalabad & Punjab.
