Airlines Reduce Domestic Fares Across Pakistan

Airlines in Pakistan have reduced domestic fares by PKR 15,000 to 20,000. This step has provided relief to travelers. At the same time, airlines have responded to a clear drop in passenger demand.

According to ARY News, airlines have canceled around 120 flights. These cancellations include both domestic and international routes. As a result, airlines have adjusted pricing strategies and lowered domestic fares to attract more passengers.

Meanwhile, airport sources have confirmed that airlines have canceled nearly 100 international flights. These flights operated to major destinations such as Dubai, Doha, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Istanbul, and Fujairah. Consequently, reduced travel demand has pushed airlines to manage capacity more carefully.

In addition, airlines have canceled about 20 domestic flights. These flights connected key cities including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, Quetta, and Faisalabad. Therefore, airlines have further reduced domestic fares to fill seats and maintain operations.

A detailed breakdown shows that Karachi has recorded 27 cancellations. Islamabad has reported 21 cancellations, while Allama Iqbal International Airport has reported 18 cancellations. Similarly, airlines have canceled multiple flights in Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, and Sialkot.

However, last month showed a different trend. Airlines increased ticket prices due to rising jet fuel costs. They raised domestic ticket prices by PKR 2,800 to 5,000. They also increased international fares by PKR 10,000 to 28,000.

Now, the situation has changed. Airlines have reduced domestic fares to match lower demand. As a result, passengers can now find more affordable travel options on major routes.

Overall, airlines continue to adjust operations based on market conditions. If demand improves, airlines may revise domestic fares again. For now, reduced domestic fares offer a valuable opportunity for travelers across Pakistan.
