Jaecoo J5 EV Price Starts at Rs5.99 Million
The Jaecoo J5 EV price has been announced in Pakistan, with the locally assembled electric SUV starting at Rs5.99 million. The announcement fills in the last major detail buyers had been waiting for.
Jaecoo has set the Comfort variant at Rs5,999,000 and the Premium at Rs6,699,000. The company says the introductory prices will remain valid until November 30, 2026.
The J5 EV is assembled in completely knocked-down form at NexGen Auto’s Faisalabad plant, the first battery electric vehicle assembled in Pakistan. The first unit rolled off the line in October.
Jaecoo J5 EV price: two variants
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| Jaecoo J5 EV Comfort | Rs5,999,000 |
| Jaecoo J5 EV Premium | Rs6,699,000 |
The two variants share the same electric hardware. The Rs700,000 gap covers the Premium’s extra equipment, including ventilated front seats and a panoramic roof.
Feature Pakistan reported earlier that the price would be revealed on November 6, after the car was unveiled at the Pakistan Auto Show in Lahore. The announcement comes from Nishat Group, which handles the OMODA and JAECOO brands in Pakistan through NexGen Auto.
What the car offers
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Battery | 58.9 kWh, lithium iron phosphate |
| Motor | 155 kW (208 hp), 288 Nm, front-wheel drive |
| 0-100 km/h | 7.7 seconds |
| Charging | 11 kW AC, up to 130 kW DC fast charging |
| Vehicle-to-load | 3.3 kW |
| Boot space | 480 litres, plus 35 litres under the bonnet |
| Drive modes | Eco, Normal, Sport |
The Premium pairs the 58.9 kWh battery with a single front-mounted motor driving the front wheels, on 18-inch wheels. An 11 kW home charger is included, according to reports.
The reported warranty is eight years or 160,000 km for the battery and six years or 150,000 km for the vehicle. Buyers should confirm it in writing before booking, as the company has not published a final specification sheet for Pakistan.
Range: read the numbers carefully
Range figures vary because they come from different test cycles. Jaecoo claims up to 461 km on the NEDC cycle, the most generous test. The WLTP combined figure, the one buyers should plan around, is about 402 km, and the strictest figure, the US EPA cycle, is about 335 km.
Real-world range will sit below the brochure numbers in most cases, as motorway speed, air-conditioning use, weather, traffic, load and driving style all cut into it. City driving will get closer to the claimed figure than long motorway runs.
The lithium iron phosphate battery tolerates heat well and lasts through many charge cycles, which matters in Pakistan’s climate.
Local assembly and the market
The J5 EV joins a local line-up that already includes the J5 hybrid and the JAECOO J7 plug-in hybrid, which crossed 15,000 units off the Faisalabad line last month. Local assembly supports parts and after-sales service, and it opens the door to bank financing for first-time electric buyers.
OMODA and JAECOO arrived in Pakistan on August 1, 2025, with a $100 million investment, and passed 10,000 deliveries in their first year. The J5 EV moves the brands from imported and hybrid models into a fully electric car built in the country.
The launch also comes as local assembly spreads: Ghandhara has begun assembling Zhongtong buses in Pakistan. The running-cost question is tied to power prices, with distribution companies seeking a further Rs1.34 per unit from December. Pakistan burns Rs3.5 trillion a year on imported energy, part of why electric options are gaining ground.
What buyers should weigh
Price was the missing piece, and it now puts the J5 EV against petrol SUVs in the same bracket. At Rs5.99 million, the Comfort undercuts several petrol crossovers of similar size, while the Premium at Rs6.69 million sits in the middle of the segment.
The decision will still come down to more than the sticker price. Charging support, real-world range, the written battery warranty and workshop access for high-voltage systems all matter. Buyers should check the booking amount and delivery timing before paying, and get the price, warranty and charging terms in writing.
