Punjab Medical Diploma Courses: 17 Open for Matric
The Punjab Medical Faculty (PMF) has announced admissions for 17 two-year paramedical diploma courses at government medical training institutions across Punjab for the 2026-28 academic session. The Punjab medical diploma courses are open to students who have passed Matriculation with Science, and applications must be submitted by November 20, 2026.
Admissions run through the Punjab Medical Faculty’s online admission system. Candidates can select their preferred courses and institutions through that system, subject to eligibility and available seats. Only online applications will be accepted, and candidates cannot submit their forms directly to the Punjab Medical Faculty office.
The courses train the allied health staff who keep hospitals running: laboratory technicians, theatre staff, radiographers, dental assistants, dialysis technicians, and others whose work patients rarely see but doctors depend on every day.
Punjab medical diploma courses: the 17 disciplines
The 17 disciplines cover laboratory, theatre, imaging, dental, and therapy work. They include Dispenser Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Operation Theatre Technician, Radiography and Imaging Technician, and Public Health Technician. The dental courses include Dental Technician, Dental Hygienist, and Dental Surgery Assistant.
Other programmes include Dialysis Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Physiotherapy Technician, Anaesthesia Technician, and Central Sterilization Technician. Students can also apply for Pharmacy Assistant, Dispensing Opticianry, Cardiac Technician, and Endoscopy Technician courses. All 17 courses run for two years.
Applicants should choose with care, because the choice shapes their working life. A laboratory technician and an operation theatre technician both work in hospitals, but their daily tasks, shifts, and further study routes differ sharply. Candidates who are unsure should compare the course list with the work they have seen in a hospital or clinic before they rank their preferences.
Who can apply
Applicants must have passed Matriculation with Science, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have secured at least a second division in Matriculation, with a minimum combined score of 45 per cent in the three science subjects. The admission notice does not specify an upper age limit, which allows eligible candidates of different age groups to apply.
The faculty has reserved a 2 per cent quota for candidates with disabilities, subject to the relevant medical board’s assessment. Eligible applicants with the required disability certificate can receive 20 additional merit marks. Candidates who have memorised the Holy Quran can receive 10 additional marks, provided they submit the required certificate from a recognised institution.
Admission will depend on academic merit, eligibility requirements, available seats, and the relevant institutional criteria. Merit, in other words, is necessary but not sufficient on its own: a candidate must also meet the subject and division requirements, and must fit within the seats available at the chosen institution.
Fee, documents, and how to apply
The Punjab Medical Faculty has set a non-refundable application fee of Rs500. Applicants must generate the fee challan through the official online admission portal and pay it according to the stated instructions. The faculty will not accept payment through bank drafts or pay orders, so applicants should not use those methods even if a bank suggests them.
Candidates must also submit the required documents, including their Matriculation certificate or result card, domicile certificate, CNIC or B-Form, and a recent passport-size photograph. Applicants seeking additional merit marks or admission under the disability quota must provide the relevant supporting certificates with their application, not after it.
