Executive Passport Office Pakistan: Premium Counters, Extra Charges & Locations

Long queues at the regular passport office? Executive Passport Offices — NADRA-run premium counters — offer shorter waits, better facilities and extended service. This guide explains what they are, what they cost extra, where to find them, and whether they’re worth it.

Quick answer: Executive Passport Offices (EPOs) are premium NADRA-run passport counters offering faster, more comfortable service than standard RPOs — shorter queues, better seating, extended hours. They charge additional NADRA service charges on top of the standard DGIP fee. EPOs operate in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Peshawar and other major cities, often inside NADRA Mega Centres.

What an Executive Passport Office is

EPOs are passport service points run by NADRA (rather than directly by DGIP’s RPO staff), designed as the premium tier: token-managed queues that actually move, air-conditioned waiting halls, and staff dedicated to throughput. They handle the same services — new applications, renewals, reprints — and feed into the same DGIP verification and printing pipeline, so processing times (Normal/Urgent/Fast Track) are the same; what you’re buying is the experience, not a faster print.

What it costs extra

On top of the standard DGIP fee (e.g. Rs 4,500 Normal 36-page/5-year), EPOs levy additional NADRA service charges — the premium for the facility and staffing. The surcharge varies by location; ask at the counter before token issuance and keep the receipt. Note the DGIP fee itself remains non-refundable, and the NADRA surcharge is likewise non-refundable once service is rendered.

Where they are

  • Islamabad — Executive Passport Office (Blue Area/F-8 vicinity); plus 24/7 RPO.
  • Lahore — Executive Passport Office Lahore (see Passport Lahore).
  • Karachi — executive counters; plus 24/7 NADRA Mega Centre Nazimabad (see Passport Karachi).
  • Faisalabad — Executive Passport Office Faisalabad (see Passport Faisalabad).
  • Peshawar — Executive Passport Office co-located with the NADRA Mega Centre.

More EPOs and passport counters at NADRA mega centres are opening under DGIP’s expansion plan — check dgip.gov.pk for the current list.

Is it worth it?

Worth it when: you’re on a tight schedule, applying urgent/fast-track, travelling with family or elderly applicants, or visiting during peak season. Not worth it when: you’re applying Normal with no deadline — the standard RPO (especially off-peak or at a 24/7 office) gets you the same passport for less. Either way, the fundamentals don’t change: pay via official channels, bring the original CNIC, and track with your token on 9988.
