Imran Khan Undergoes Medical Examination at Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan underwent a fresh medical examination at Adiala Jail on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

A special team of doctors reached the prison to carry out the Imran Khan Medical Exam and assess his current health condition. The team included medical specialists and paramedical staff from PIMS and an eye hospital.

Doctors brought modern medical equipment with them for the examination. They checked several basic health indicators and also focused on his eyesight.

The medical team checked Imran Khan’s blood pressure during the visit. Doctors also examined his eyes as part of the overall assessment.

According to reports, specialists from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences took part in the examination. Eye specialists also joined the team because doctors have monitored Khan’s eye condition during earlier medical assessments.

The Imran Khan medical exam follows several previous health assessments during his detention. Medical teams have examined him on different occasions in recent months.

Earlier this year, doctors assessed an eye-related medical condition and reported improvement after treatment. Previous medical reports also included detailed vision checks and recommended continued treatment.

In August, authorities also took Imran Khan to PIMS for another medical examination. He later returned to Adiala Jail after doctors completed that assessment.

During the latest visit, doctors reportedly carried out a comprehensive check-up inside the jail. The medical team used its equipment to assess his general condition and review issues requiring specialist attention.

However, officials had not released detailed results from Sunday’s examination at the time of reporting. Therefore, the latest information mainly confirms the medical team’s arrival and the start of the assessment.

The Imran Khan Medical Exam has attracted public attention because his health has remained a subject of discussion among his family, political party and government officials.

PTI representatives and members of Khan’s family have previously raised concerns about his medical care. Government officials, meanwhile, have said that authorities provide him with necessary treatment and specialist access when required.

Doctors have closely monitored his eyesight. A February medical report said specialists had examined both eyes and had observed improvement in his right-eye vision following treatment.

The latest examination again brought together doctors with experience in general medicine and eye care. This suggests that the team aimed to review both his overall health and previously identified eye concerns.

The Imran Khan Medical Exam also follows a series of court-related developments concerning access to medical treatment. Earlier this year, the Islamabad High Court directed authorities to arrange a medical board for his eye condition.

Medical access for prisoners can become especially sensitive when a detainee has ongoing health concerns. In Khan’s case, repeated examinations have kept the issue in the public spotlight.

For now, authorities have not shared a full medical report from the September 20 examination. They have also not announced whether doctors recommended any new treatment or further hospital visits.

The Imran Khan Medical Exam at Adiala Jail therefore remains an ongoing development. More details may emerge if doctors or officials release the findings of the latest assessment.

Until then, the confirmed information shows that a specialist medical team examined the former prime minister inside the jail and checked important health indicators, including his blood pressure and eyesight.
