FRC Through Pak Identity: Family Registration Certificate Guide

The Family Registration Certificate — FRC — is one of NADRA’s most-requested documents after the CNIC itself. It lists your family members as registered in NADRA’s database, and embassies, courts and schools ask for it constantly. The good news: you can get it through Pak Identity without visiting an office.

Quick answer: An FRC (Family Registration Certificate) is NADRA’s official record of your registered family members. Apply through the Pak-ID app or id.nadra.gov.pk: log in, select the FRC service, verify the family members shown, pay the fee, and download or receive the certificate.

What an FRC Is

The Family Registration Certificate is NADRA’s certified statement of your family composition — typically you, your spouse, children and parents as recorded against your CNICs. It is not an identity card; it is proof of relationship, and it is only as accurate as NADRA’s family tree for your household.

Who Needs One

  • Visa applications — many embassies require an FRC to establish family ties
  • Inheritance and succession cases — courts ask for it to identify legal heirs
  • School and university admissions — occasionally required for guardian verification
  • Overseas documentation — consulates and foreign authorities

How to Apply via Pak Identity

Log in to the Pak-ID app or id.nadra.gov.pk, choose the FRC service, and review the family members NADRA shows. If the tree is correct, pay the fee and submit — the certificate is issued digitally and can also be delivered. If members are missing or wrongly linked, correct the underlying family record first (see below).

Fixing Family-Record Errors

An FRC with a missing child or a wrongly linked relative is a common headache. The fix is a family-record correction at a NADRA centre with supporting documents (B-Forms, marriage certificate). Do this before applying for the FRC, or the certificate will simply repeat the error.

For everything else NADRA offers online, see our Pak Identity pillar guide.

How long does an FRC take?

Applied online with a correct family record, FRCs are typically issued within days. Errors in the family tree add weeks — fix the record first.

Can I get an FRC for someone else’s family?

No. You can only request an FRC for your own registered family — the biometric login guarantees it.

Is the digital FRC accepted everywhere?

NADRA-issued FRCs — digital or printed — are official documents. Some foreign missions ask for attestation; check the specific embassy’s requirements.
