Islamabad: Authorities have introduced a major upgrade in the driving license process by launching a fully cashless payment system. This step will help citizens pay license fees on their mobile phones without visiting a bank.
The National Highways and Motorway Police rolled out this digital solution to simplify the driving license process. Now, applicants can complete fee payments quickly from home. As a result, they no longer need to stand in long queues at bank branches.
Moreover, DIG Operations Asghar Ali officially inaugurated the system. He stated that the goal is to make the driving license process more efficient and transparent. At the same time, officials want to reduce delays and improve public service delivery.
Under this system, users can pay fees through Easypaisa, JazzCash, and various banking apps. Therefore, the license process becomes faster and more convenient for everyone. Citizens can complete transactions in seconds using their smartphones.
In addition, authorities have installed QR code machines at the Islamabad Driving Licensing Authority with support from the National Bank of Pakistan. These machines allow quick scanning and instant payments. Consequently, the driving license process now includes real-time payment verification.
Officials also confirmed that similar systems are being introduced in Sheikhupura and Quetta. Furthermore, plans are in place to expand the service nationwide. This expansion will ensure that the improved process reaches more citizens across Pakistan.
