GB Elections: Skardu-II Result Announced

Skardu: The official Skardu-II Result has been announced after election authorities completed an investigation into complaints regarding the constituency.

The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan released the final Skardu-II Result after reviewing a petition submitted by Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Muhammad Ali Shah. He had raised concerns about the conduct of polling and requested a formal inquiry.

However, election officials found no evidence to support the allegations. The District Returning Officer reviewed the complaints and confirmed that polling remained peaceful throughout the constituency.

According to the report, voters exercised their right to vote without disruption. Election staff carried out their duties smoothly. Moreover, authorities found no incidents of violence, intimidation, or interference during the election process.

The inquiry also confirmed that no one damaged or removed ballot boxes, ballot papers, or election materials. In addition, polling agents and election officials performed their responsibilities without obstruction.

Following the investigation, the authorities finalized the Skardu-II Result and closed the complaint process for the constituency. The decision cleared uncertainty surrounding the election outcome and allowed officials to proceed with the final results.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission approved re-polling at selected polling stations in five constituencies. These constituencies include GBA-8 Skardu-II, GBA-13 Astore-I, GBA-15 Diamer-I, GBA-16 Diamer-II, and GBA-17 Diamer-III.

Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan praised the overall election process in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said election authorities conducted peaceful and orderly polls across the region. Furthermore, he announced that re-polling in selected polling stations will take place on June 15.

The latest Skardu-II Result comes as official outcomes continue to emerge from across Gilgit-Baltistan. So far, authorities have declared results for 20 of the 24 assembly seats.

Current figures show that the Pakistan Peoples Party secured nine seats. Independent candidates won five seats, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz also captured five seats. Meanwhile, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen secured one seat.

The announcement of the Skardu-II Result marks another important step in completing the Gilgit-Baltistan election process.
